TATA Enters Algerian Automobile Market

The Indian automotive conglomerate has expanded its business to Algeria with the launch of its passenger vehicle range – the Tata Indica and Tata Vista hatchbacks and the Tata Manza and Tata Indigo sedans.

Tata Motor already has presence across five continents (including Africa) but says Algeria is a key market in its global expansion plan.

Head of International Business, Jonny Oommen said the company’s entry into Algeria is in line with its “Horizonext strategy”, which aims to place TATA as the best customer service by offering sustainable and attractive after-market service support.

The car maker says the vehicles are equipped with safety features of ABS and dual airbags as well as a host of comfort and convenience features.

Oommen said the company is confident of establishing a strong presence in the North African country through its “distributor partners and customer-centric focus.”

The automobile company has appointed SPA Elsecom to oversee the distribution and marketing of its vehicles. SPA Elsecom will focus distribution within Algiers and Oran – two major cities in Algeria.
